Job specification: My client currently has a position for a full time member of staff working as a lift engineer. The position will be based around a service route in London, although periodic visits may be required at all sites in the UK. The engineer will be expected to attend sites for service visits, calls and lift repairs. We therefore require a good level of knowledge and experience of all disciplines within the lift industry and the successful candidate will have spent time on call, maintenance, repair, installation and testing. We can provide training, towards recognised qualifications if necessary. The starting salary awarded will be dependent on age and experience. A probationary period of 6 months will apply. There is a rota system for weekend and night calls. We allow four weeks holiday per year.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following qualities:
- Age commensurate with experience but looking to be integral to the company structure
for many years to come. - Living between Southend on Sea and East London.
- Clean full UK driving licence
Essential skills: - Strong mechanical and electronic background, good communicator,
- excellent planning & organisation, effective administration, reliability.
- Desirable skills: IT skills, welding, fabricating Preferable but not essential.
Qualifications: NVQ 3 Lift Engineering or apprenticeship served with associated qualifications of time, NVQ 4 units for tester/adjusters. Knowledge: good working knowledge of all EN81 regulations, the lift Directive, BS7255 Safe working on Lifts and Health & Safety at Work Act and how to work responsibly and safely.
