Job description :

To be responsible to the Senior Project Manager for the procurement and management of the trade package (or multiple packages).
Person Specification 1. The post holder should have quality proven experience of construction and design, within fast track construction and complicated buildings.

2. The post holder will have experience of dealing with World Class Architects, Engineers and other professional and technical workers.

3. The post holder must be able to analyse and interpret drawings (technical and architectural), specifications and bills of quantities.

4. The post holder must be fully familiar with the integration of all construction disciplines in order to assist with coordination of interfaces between packages, and assist with processing of technical queries and requests for information raised by contractors.

5. The post holder should possess excellent negotiation skills and apply these to their dealings with owners, developers and subcontractors.

6. A commitment to continuing professional development within construction is highly desirable - especially that relating to Health & Safety and modern methods of construction. The post holder must be competent in assessing and commenting on the adequacy of Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

7. The post holder should be commercially and contractually aware, and should possess coordination skills with regards to labour resources, procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.

8. The post holder should have experience of preparing and analysing tenders and be fully familiar with modern procurement processes.

9. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and organisation skills are essential.

10. Intermediate IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, particularly Word, Excel, Power Point; good numeracy skills with experience of document management software.

11. Excellent inter-personal skills are essential, the post holder should be able to build relationships and influence decision-making both as subordinate, colleague and manager of staff.

12. The post holder must be fully conversant in building legislation and standards of building performance.
