Job Summary: Responsible for assisting in all aspects of the financial management of a construction project. Major Responsibilities 1. Manages specific elements of work allocated by the Senior Cost Manager. 2. Assist with development of approved tender lists. 3. Assist with preparation of tender documentation. 4. Assist with commercial evaluation of tenders including meetings, supplemental bid documentation, and recommendation report. 5. Assist with preparation of contract documentation for execution. 6. Review trade contract and consultant submittals from a commercial perspective, report and respond, including requests for information, as necessary. 7. Liaise with contractors and/or Client representatives to ensure instructions raised/acted upon, costs received, agreed and change orders issued on a regular basis. 8. Ensure accounts are kept up to date throughout the various contract durations. 9. Assist in inspection of trade contract works for quality and completion from a commercial perspective, and advice and/or resolve, as necessary. 10. Prepare interim valuations for progress payment. 11. Negotiate and prepare final accounts. 12. Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitoring. 13. Prepare relevant elements of the cost statement. 14. Analyse final accounts to provide information for cost planning purposes. 15. Assist with the preparation of Insurance claim documentation. 16. Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested and assigned by the Senior Cost Manager. Person Specification 1. Quantity Surveying practical work experience, ideally on large commercial office/retail projects, is highly desirable. 2. A Degree in Quantity Surveying is preferred
. 3. The individual should possess excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). 4. Strong negotiation skills are essential.
5. Computer Literacy is an essential requirement of this role.
6. The possession of a positive and helpful attitude is essential as is a strong customer service orientation.
7. It is essential that the incumbent is able to maintain excellent working relationships with the rest of a diverse project team and all levels of the organisation, on a one to one and group basis.
