MAIN PURPOSE:-

To prepare logic linked programmes, method statements, labour histograms, scaffold schedules for tender submissions. To prepare logic linked Master Programmes, Information Required Schedules, Target Programmes and to carry out Progress Monitoring at contract stage.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: -

- Prepare Tender Programmes and Method Statements using tender documents, drawings, site visits and by liaison with the Cost Manager and Contract Manager.
- Explain scope of works and discuss programme and methodology with the Managing Planner and Cost Manager.
- Prepare scaffold schedules at tender stage as requested.
- Develop the tender programme into a detailed contract stage programme. This will include close liaison with the Contracts Manager, Site Manager, Contract Surveyor and Buyer
- Produce an Information Required Schedule, linked to the Contract Master Programme or Target Programme.
- Produce Target/Works Programmes, including close liaison with the Contracts Manager and Site Manager.
- Produce reports and advise on measures to maintain programme objectives.
- Record feedback from site to produce as-built programmes.
- Use feed-back from site visits to update historical data, e.g. output rates.
- Produce and issue batch reports to site for recording weekly progress.
MUST HAVE / MUST BE:-

- Conversant with planning techniques including critical path analysis, logic linking, resource allocation and levelling.
- IT literate - conversant with use of planning software
- Construction related qualification
- Relevant experience in planning discipline
- Team leader
- Good communication skills
- Clean driving licence
- Able to work on own initiative
- Self motivated
- Experienced with Higgins type of projects and contracts
- Enthusiastic

DESIRABLE:-

- Previous experience in managerial discipline
- IT skills - conversant with use of latest ASTA Power Project software - conversant with Word and Excel
- Site based experience in Management/Planning role
- Qualified to degree level in construction
- Member of Construction Professional Body, eg. CIOB
